Biography

Biographical news and artistic collaborations of Federico Malaman, bassist, double bassist and arranger

Bassist, double bassist and arranger Federico Malaman graduated in double bass in 2000 at the Conservatory of Music “E. Dall’Abaco” of Verona.
When he was very young, he started working as a bass player and arranger on important Italian RAI television programmes with Paolo Belli’s Big Band: “Ballando con le stelle”, “Telethon”,” Torno Sabato”.

Subsequently, he has toured with acclaimed Italian artists such as Mario Biondi, Elio e le Storie Tese, Antonella Ruggiero, Paolo Belli.
Thanks to his extraordinary versatility, Federico has managed to establish himself as an appreciated and requested session man. At the same time, he has gained authority as a reference virtuoso of the electric bass in the most current international fusion-progressive jazz scene.

A creative and tireless musician, Federico continues to be divided between records and recording studios, festivals and reviews and international, TV programs and international music fairs. Federico’s popularity on the Web is absolutely important: thanks to his amazing virtuosity, combined with an innate sympathy and communicative ability, he has become a real star, imposing himself as one of the most popular teacher and musician. In his musical journey Federico had the honour of playing, among many others, with George Benson, Solomon Burke, Wilson Pickett, Al Jarreau, Kid Creole, Zucchero, Lucio Dalla, Ron, Renato Zero, Claudio Baglioni, Gianni Morandi, Giorgia, Gianna Nannini, Fabio Concato, Marcus Miller, Virgil Donati, Victor Wooten, Billy F. Gibbons (ZZ Top), Jean-Paul “Bluey” Maunick (Incognito), Stefano Bollani, Paolo Fresu, Stef Burns, Andrea Braido, Ada Rovatti.
